noip and port forwarding - Raspberry Pi Forums
okay totall noob here.
have transmission @ port 9091 , seafile @ 8000
if want access remotely (outside local network) how should this
forwarded ports in router external ip have use (routers external ip or raspberry's external ip) ?
dont know how use noip.com please explain steps total newbie here
because works if : routers-external-ip:port , if without port can access routers main page becomes risky stuff... want if opens link without port index.html of raspberrypi should open , not routers index.asp

hello!
name hailee , work no-ip, think can answer question.
first step port forwarding router , opening port 9091 , 8000. if have done can check when @ location going www.portchecktool.com , test see if port 9091 , 8000 accessible outside network. use public ip (external ip) see on www.portchecktool.com.
once have ports open want make sure no-ip.com account setup correctly. assuming have account created need make sure have created hostname. can when login no-ip , go "hosts/redirects" or "dynamic dns" @ top left. should see hostname if not need create 1 clicking "add host". once created need run , install our dynamic update client (duc). can use guide below installing our duc on raspberry pi.
when running duc check every 5 minutes see if ip address has changed. if detects ip address change automatically update hostname created new ip address. able use hostname connect network. since using port 8000 (guessing http port) able connect hostname adding colon port 8000 @ end example http://yourname.ddns.net:8000.
no-ip install duc on raspberry pi:
