[solved] Moving database to local production site from server...SQL problem? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all,

i have read threads find on this, , found similar problems, no specific solution. 

first, have joomla site hosted on lunarpages using sql version 4.1.21-standard , joomla 1.0.12

i got new laptop, installed php5, apache 5.0 , sql server version: 5.0.27-community-nt ... recent versions available source.

my laptop windows xp sp2 hp pavillion.

i succesfully created fresh install of joomla sample database.  went lunarpages , exported live database using phpmyadmin.  imported database onto laptop using phpmyadmin on laptop. 

so have 2 databases, 1 lunarpages name of joom_stree7, , default database created called streetmedicine.

ok, next step going admin page, , under database, changed name of database deafault streetmedicine imported joom_stree7. 

then when tired view either admin site or site itself, got screen said site down , contact administrator.

i changed name of database original using text editor, , i'm original default installation.

can identify might wrong? want local copy of data on laptop can play templates, forums, etc , see actual data.

your configuration.php in " / " directory needs changed point new database name, new database username , new database password, have changed details yet?
