hello have installed huawei usb modem e1550 support on ubuntu 8.04, when plug it, works few minutes , crashes errors

i trying uplug , plug again nothing happens .
there issues of problems?

if have opportunity @ all, might try livecd of new version of ubuntu, , see if can configure modem on it;

here thread folks have got working on 9.04

essence seems making udev rules, telling ubuntu see modem not cd-rom device modem
