Thread: IPv6 woes

i installed karmic rc (i had same problem in beta). couldn't connect internet, connect in other places. concluded router problem.
have decided:

ubuntu says "hi can use ipv6?"
router says "sure!"
ubuntu says "okay, use that!"
router tries, apparently doesn't support ipv6
ubuntu keeps using ipv6, because router said can take it

same problem connecting hard-wired. question is: there way manually tell ubuntu use ipv4 while connected "router"?

said connects fine elsewhere, guess router unlucky . . .

i don't know if can turn off ipv6 in firefox: open about:config , type ipv6 in filter bar; change line network.dns.disableipv6 false true.
