trying make backup of home described here https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /backup.md
using tar command keep getting error message

tar (child): pi_home.tar.gz: cannot open: permission denied
tar (child): error not recoverable: exiting now

want fresh install of noobs on bigger sd card , restore backup.
thanks.

you need supervisor privileges it. achieved adding word "sudo",

code: select all

cd /home/ sudo tar czf pi_home.tar.gz pi
