dpi / ppi distiller

hey

i have postscriptfile indesign want make pdf opening in distiller. contains highresolution photos, vectors , text. export pdfs 300 ppi. different sources claim plotter can plot accuracy of respectively 200, 300 or, maximum, 600 ppi

my question is; wath dpi(not ppi) should choose in distillers adope pdf settings?

300? 2400? neither of those?

i have tried dpi/ppi myself, information contradicting.
