Thread: Thinkpad R40 Mouse Buttons & UltraNav

i'm trying thinkpad r40 going friend. had fedora 8 running on it, , worked pretty good, having problems getting wireless work. think problem our network uses wpa, , don't think wireless tools supported wpa well.

anyhow, installed ubuntu 9.04 think is(jaunty jacalope). problem mouse buttons don't work properly. left button not exist. right button works, context button if mouse on applications , click rigth button menu. thinkpad has third mouse button in middle, , 2 more buttons below called ultanav buttons. don't have clew how these work. little red trackpoint on keyboard works.

need know how sudo on teminal gedit , fix xorg.conf file believe what's needed.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/laptoptestin...inkpadr40-2681

i'm not sure if things altered after that... 8.xx pretty version, still used lot - so, if aint broken on release .... i'd sorely tempted start there...

hope of help,

phill.
