Thread: No Wireless Network after upgrade to 9.10 from 9.4

hello all,
new ubuntu , need regarding wireless way of connection. old laptop sony pcg fxa49 connected first second after formatting disk , installed ubuntu 9.4 more 4 months. decided upgrade 9.10 karmic , wireless dead. have tried research seems has different way fixing this. appreciated. resolution know go 9.4.

try putting installation cd in , open terminal , entering:
code:
sudo aptitude install bcmwl-kernel-source
and restart.

edit: if package can't found, open /etc/apt/sources.list root privileges , remove '#' start of top line (with "deb cdrom:[ubuntu 9.10 _karmic koala_ - release..." @ start) , enter:
code:
sudo aptitude update
before installing "bcmwl-kernel-source".
