Thread: Installing 6.06lts on Thinkpad A31

i not techie, linux newbie please make reply easy follow. have ibm thinkpad a31 2652 j3u, p4 1.6m, 512 pc2700 ddr, ati mobility radeon 7500 laptop running xp pro sp3. want install ubuntu 6.06lts (i have cd). ubuntu installer format "c" drive before installing 6.06 (i want ubuntu on computer)? 6.06 best version install laptop or can suggest better more compatible version (i want install firefox package manager). have serious problems installing ubuntu? thanks.

during install, can specifiy want. default format entire hard drive , sets partitions needed you.

version.. newer one. 6.06 old (june 2006 version). go 9.10 beta version. download here

if don't want go beta (which working fine, fyi) can grab version 9,04. 9.10 shoudl released 29th.
