Thread: Boot Ubuntu and Ubuntu studio with XP and Windows 7

hello! noob here these forums..

wondering if there need know '5'-boot (what else called?) ubuntu 9.10, ubuntu studio 9.10, 2 xp installs, , windows 7.

planning on installing ubuntu studio , windows 7 on 1st drive (sata drive) , ubuntu on 2nd drive (an ide drive).
have 2 xp installs (and messed ubuntu 9.04 install i'm going install ubuntu studio over) installed on sata drive, , have windows 7 rc on ide drive ubuntu 9.10 going go.

couple questions:

1- how set 1 drive's mbr (preferably ide drive) have grub , boot both ubuntu installs , have option continue win7 bootloader installed in other (sata) drive's mbr? how update grub when kernel update gets installed?
(already use ubuntu 9.04 , know menu.lst, want pointers...)

2- can set both ubuntu installs use same swap partition?

3- general pointers setup?

help!
