hi, don't know wireless cards in ubuntu. i've been trying atheros ar5001x card running, nothing seems work.

i'm running fresh install of ubuntu 9.04 on dell dimension b110.

when type lspci in terminal, output is:

i've tried downloading driver , installing ndiswrapper, hasn't worked. i'm not sure i'm doing it, i've tried 3 different drivers found online after googling "atheros ar5001x driver". 3 drivers show in ndiswrapper as: net5211, netathw , netathwx.

wired connection working perfectly, wireless thing not working. oh, , has worked in past windows, , worked on older install of ubuntu 8.04 automatically taken care me. hardware works.

normally, fixed installing madwifi package repos. madwifi package heavily depends on hal framework hardware detection , of 9.10 hal being depreciated in favor of udev. so, naturally cannot include madwifi package in 9.10 , continue moving forward removing hal.

newer ath5k package not support older wireless chipset.

did find forum thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1309072) offers directions on installing current madwifi driver , getting card working. i've not tested procedure may work you.
