Do I really need a bridge? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
or having bridge make life easier?
i have joomla , smf installed on seperate dbs. want staff can post news login seperate smf account. don't want smf wrapped in joomla, or joomla template, simular.
all want able have few modules allow smf login on frontpage, smf statistics, whos online in forums, , thats it.
any suggestions?

tough call. can use smf's ssi functions in modules of need. bridges, there pre-written modules things, doing 1 shouldn't tough. searching , you'll find modules things recent posts without using bridge.
since sounds prefer staff use separate login posting news items, think i'd recommend not bridging. that's how here.
