4 seperate Displays (displaying 3-digits-number) - wich to use?

hello there,

i want connect 4 units arduino, each consisting of 3x7segment-display or lcd, 2 buttons(for increasing/decreasing) numbers

since need 4 lcds need (spi?) bus , lcd cannot expensive.

can give me hints wich lcd use (if possible without voltage shifting)?
do 3x7segment-units exist controlled via bus?
