i writing simple thermostat timer program switch heating on , off @ preset time , depending on preset room temperature, simulating switching led stage, before getting real world.
far have timers operating ok, switching led , looking @ adding in temperature component.
looking forward, can conceive using "if" check temperature @ start of "on" period cannot conceive how continually check whether temp changes during "on" period few hours.

do have temperature measurement device connected pi?
if so, read when want know temperature, or read periodically idea of temperature trend.
