Thread: Grub missing windows entry for dualboot

hello,

updated ubuntu, , gave me option keep menu.lst way is, or change other things. foolishly chose change maintainers specifications or something, , windows vista loader option missing grub menu. though named vista loader, windows 7 btw.

did not make backup of menu.lst.

how can set can boot windows grub again?

thanks, appreciated

to tell entry need partition list. assume not on karmic yet totally different.

sudo fdisk -l

backup
sudo cp /boot/grub/menu.lst /boot/grub/menu.lst.backup
edit
gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

entry either before or after automagic lines, adjust partition:

title windows 7 ultimate, chainloader (on /dev/sda1)
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
savedefault
chainloader +1
