- this removes default sound/microphone devices. however, when trying test aplay or arecord, getting ‘channels count not available’.
- this allow me listen sound via browser

in short, have detailed instructions on how connect usb headset (microphone + headphones) raspberry pi 2 jessie installed default device?

thanks!

try simple route well; see speaker icon on menu bar, top right? right-click on that.
should see default analog , hdmi options listed usb stuff plugged in *should* include them well. if click on usb headset might work. if not, try clicking on last item should there, 'device settings...' open dialogue fiddle with. can set volume levels, choose 'capture' device (i.e. microphone) , set default.

had no decent success using c-media based usb sound, perfect success ancient griffin imic dongle. no file editing required.
