Fastest python program on boot? - Raspberry Pi Forums

hello everyone,

i've written program in python i've put in rc.local file launch on boot. sadly, script boot after raspbian launched it's quite slow (around 30 sec).

there way make raspberry pi boot directly on python script without loading things needed raspbian? under 5 sec if possible.

are on raspbian jessie ?
booting command line, or full desktop gui (x) ?

30 seconds seems long time (slow sd card?), i'd expect rc.local around 15 secs.

try arch faster boot - @ 1 point had rainbow screen first raspistill image taken in under 7 seconds.
