Solid Edge conversion

i'm using acrobat 9 pro extended , i'm trying find best conversion solid edge. have tried direct .asm on complex models, errors out "exception has been raised". i've tried jt, stp , stl success. however, 1 issue i'm having model tree. on pdf tree, each sub-assembly looks this:

in solid edge model, tree looks this:

why duplicates , why "nodes" in pdf tree? format , options should use make tree in pdf more tree in model?

i've got similar result each part being followed "node" or 2 "node" entries in cases. flat sheet metal development added folded part in other cases appears duplicate part.

my problems extend not being able see parts in assembly. it's listed nothing visible. if acrobat had trouble triangulated mesh.
