ok new electronics , trying make own cable connect ecu on car. have been doing tons of research , think might close have questions. first off want usb on 1 side wires on other. plug wiring usb have tx, rx, ign power around 12v, grnd , clk data wire. clkcan plugged 5v on circuit board , rx, tx, , grnd go names on associated wires. don't know ign wire go though. have seen these ch340g has connections , has vcc connect 12v , work? appreciated.

i might wrong, have impression usb 'standard' applies 5v signals?

nervous directly connecting 12v input part of rpi.
