splash screen, preferred last 2 incarnations.

login screen. why can't customise it? want type in user name , have no list of users. don't new version. apart else, listing valid users small security risk.


new icons on menu bar battery, wireless strength, volume control etc grey , boring. want ones last version back, i've yet find them,

icon folders, guess what, preferred last version. haven't found nice replacement yet.

no big problems, don't new appearance. i've been able find nice alternative quickly, not managed version.

oh, epiphany , evolution appeared default in message notification window, yet epiphany crashed every time clicked on it. don't use either - use mozilla , pidgin - installed , defaults, why didn't appear in message notification window?

well isn't great problem me turned small disaster. when upgraded 9.04 9.10 ended xubuntu login screen. trying figure out how customise how ubuntu should look. see run multiple desktops upgrade didn't go supposted to.

think add/remove application backward step. in 9.04 pick several programs install @ once. need click , select, install. more highly time consuming , requires more clicks per application.

ubuntu 1 has stopped working across board on machines have installed.

weak aspect of upgrade process, management of repositories. have local repository prefer use because doesn't cost me download fee. (bigpond) needed turn off repositories not related bigpond, switch bigpond repositories jaunty karmic. set update download process. bombs out. have switch repositories main , switch off bigpond repositories , perform upgrade using update-manager -d command.
