Thread: How Little Swap Do I Really Need?


[if not posted in appropriate forum, please move it] installed koala 9.10 , have been satisfied -- notice default install uses bit of ssd swap shown gparted @ 500mb. granted, don't know i'd use space for i'm curious how space necessary; what's minimum koala needs function on older model netbook doing designed do?

asus eeepc 701(b) 4g ssd
1 gb ram

edit - know how change hda5 partition -- question is: how small can before potentially hurt system...

0mb. have no swap partition on dell mini 9 (8gb ssd, 1gb ram) , ubuntu runs fine. swap necessary if don't have enough ram daily tasks, or want hibernate disk (in case must exceed size of ram).
