# edit minecraft server properties view-distance=4 , max-players=5
leafpad /home/pi/server.properties

java -xmx768m -xms768m -jar minecraft_server.1.8.9.jar nogui
#java -xmx768m -xms768m -jar minecraft_server.1.8.9.jar

more details...
performance in gui mode complained
nothing magic 4 in view-distance=4 left defaults view-distance=10 , son said minecraft usable. looked @ black screen , agreed.

found notes recommended 7 , 4 , went straight 4 because 10 bad.

nothing magic max-players=5 read elsewhere that number.

nothing magic 768 in memory settings - looked @ rpi 2 memory , had left set that. little higher.

son still prefers running minecraft server on full, 8 processor i7 nice know option.

oops, wont allow me edit previous post note...

initial startup takes few minutes build "world".

need run server nogui switch above.

can run temporarily gui (by not appending nogui) , watch things happen crash - after finishes initial build.
