i installed reader 9 older adobe products no longer work

i use help. couple of days ago upgraded adobe reader 9. program worked fine, can no longer use of older adobe products. illustrator 8, streamline 4, photoshop 4, none of these working. if try open programs automator starts. programs documents not programs. ive tried reinstalling original disks , disk not recognized program either.

has else had problem? short of erasing hard drive , starting over? ive tried searching net, theres soooo many files read...

i have mac pro g5 dual core 2.3. have adobe cs2 suite running.
