no more fl.controls package?

hi,
i looking @ gumbo documetation first time , noticed there no longer fl.controls package.
so have conclude on times use light weight flash controls contained in package?

does mean pure as3 projects thing of past , have start using flex framework if need textarea , rest pure flash player stuff(sprites, graphics etc.)?
