Thread: Newbie having trouble connecting latest version of Ubuntu to internet via DSL ?

hello, i'm bit of linux newbie. downloaded , installed latest version of ubuntu dual boot windows xp pro os. can't connect internet ubuntu, though everything's still fine on windows. have westell 6100f modem dsl connection. verizon internet service provider. have tried clicking on network manager in top-right , hitting "dsl", "add", doesn't work. gives me blank spaces, , don't know put in them. i've tried stuff, nothing works. have tried multiple things, no avail if out poor newbie in need, i'd appreciate it. thanks!

run network manger by

alt+f2 , type

nm-applet

try lookin on top right see if ur wireless visible
