Repeat Page Content For Printing

i not sure if me this.

my system setup
mac os 10.5.5
acrobat pro 9.0.0

1.
sometime last year, saw using acrobat auto arrange "template" page of pdf multiple times onto single page emulate no of copies single "template" page can fit onto a3 paper. hence wondering if 1 got idea how done?

2.
recently created a0 poster using illustrator. tried printing adobe pdf 9.0 result not of size set. in end produced .ps file , use distiller produce pdf. time consuming. wondering if have got solution?

for question 1, unclear of want. in print dialog box
there option booklet printing , printing n-pages per sheet.
that may due want or there a great program called quite
imposing allows more customization print imposition.

for question 2, should not printing pdf illy,
exporting pdf. should preserve need if choose
the correct job-options.
