Thread: USB Flash Drive Auto Opens

hi.

whenever plug in of usb flash drives, external drives etc automatically open in nautilus. (ie, plug in external drive (which has 3 partitions) , 3 nautilus' open up).

question is: there way stop happening , still happen others or stop altogether?

stop hald loading @ startup , usb/cd insertions ignored completely. (probably not want)

it's or nothing, unless you're comfortable scripting , careful identify usb sticks useful partition labels.


have wondered this, myself.

suspect ubuntu team asked themselves: "windows prompts user. prompt must answered. why not open thing , let user close if don't want open?"

looking @ issue way, windows prompt annoying , retarded in engrossing , empowering way.
