Projector lift
i have projector, love, wife wishes hidden when not in use. , since live in one-story , have easy access attic, thought projector lift quite doable.
i've never used arduino before, i'm eager play , learn. first hoping guidance on purchase.
i think i'd use linear actuator (that can lift @ least 35 lbs , extend 14") move lift , down, want activated 12v trigger output projector. don't know kind of signal sent, it's kind of open industry standard since lots of devices support trigger inputs , outputs.
so projector turns on, lift comes down. projector turns off, lift goes up. simple.
arduino micro, thinking. h bridge driver, though don't know (there seem lot). , actuator provides feedback (don't know of these either).
i'm sure i'll have tons of questions later how make work, now, hoping suggestions purchase.
thanks,
andrew

your mechanism more difficult challenge arduino.
you can switching arduino. use mega prototyping , quite attiny85's final project.
a relay board cheap , safe (if add fuses 110v or 230v system)
let know when finished!
