Having trouble with FTP - help please - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi all,

have webcam uploads images through ftp every hour nas want make redundant in favour of using 1 of pi's (silent compared hourly whirring , whining of nas).

i'm having bit of trouble though. followed instructions setting vsftpd , logged in user pi fine , see directories unable write folder wanted use ftp through windows explorer.

used ln command make same folder (home\pi\webcam) available through web see images.

did chown on webcam folder pi user well, winscp shows rights r-xr-xr-x

did purge on vsftpd , installed pure-ftpd instead via here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... ess/ftp.md

couldn't log in ftpuser still log in pi user.

error i'm getting trying write directory is:

"an error occurred copying file ftp server. make sure have permission put files on server.
details:
200 type 8-bit binary
227 entering passive mode (192,167,1,42,227,230)
553 can't open file: permission denied

ah - sorted it:

chmod 775 /home/pi/webcam :d
