Raspberry Pi Microwave + bar code Scanner - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi! engineering group , working on our senior capstone project microwave bar code scanner , raspberry pi attachment enters in how long product needs cook once bar code scanned. right have our microwave dissembled , original circuit board has been removed. looking way connect touch-pad button matrix our pi. have considered removing original touch pad connector original circuit board , placing on row of pins on our raspberry pi a+, connector won't budge original board. not sure method work, however, don't want rip connector off board. also, need find way power our pi through microwave power connectors don't appear compatible pi of right now. have never used pi before , advice appreciated. here link pictures of our microwave [https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing]
wow! you've set difficult challenge , potentially dangerous 1 given high voltages inside microwaves , rf radiation risk.
have no idea capstone project or level in education consider getting professional guidance before taking on task.
how power pi
strip apart 5v usb power supply , connect directly mains feed comes in microwave. fuse on mains side addition here too.
how connect touch pad.
wouldn't. i'd use small touch screen instead of touchpad. way can display virtual touchpad , additional information food stuff barcode scanner reads.
if don't want that, you'll have rip connector off. supply photos of how connects main pcb , maybe can give advice. odds row/column matrix you'll need connect gpio pins , periodically scan pins tell whether buttons have been pressed.
