car solenoid circuit

i have old solenoid car used control locks. 12 volts. able make work arduino using diode, 2.2k resistor , tip transistor.

i've found if reverse leads on solenoid either pushes or pulls

if want control arduino using 2 pins (or 1 better), use h bridge? if circuit application?

ideally have solenoid pull when digital pin low , push when digital pin high.

i have digital relays, can use those.

a h-bridge can job. these controlled in different ways. have individual inputs bridge halves, in case have invert signal 1 of them. others have logic between halves, have study datasheets
