Thread: How do you remove or delete files Ubuntu 9.04

ok, sorry this, learning , new ubuntu. figured out sftp , connected via dreamweaver. "put" files under directory did not want. created /var/www/mysite folder, gave user permissions folder , linking dreamweaver.

question... no have same files in 2 different places on server. how go in there , remove them safely... (there lot of pictures uploaded , taking lot of room).

code need type?

for file
rm <filename>

multiple files
rm <file1> <file2> <so on>

folder , in it
rm -r <folder name>

empty folder
rmdir <folder name>

memory -r stands recursive
