never had problem before multiple raspberry pi systems. today set new system jessie. used standard pi user basic setup , configuration including tightvnc , works perfectly. created new user account myself documents don't mingle other person automatically log in pi on system. problem can't log in on console using new account. 100% using proper user id , password. new user account has no problem logging in remote system using ssh. in summary, default user pi works whether system boots command line or gui. new user account can't log in on console using either gui or command line. idea i'm doing wrong? sorry earlier post. solved own problem describe in case else has similar keyboard configuration issue. had used @ symbol in password. however, typing @ on console keyboard producing quotes instead of @. checked / changed configuration several times in preferences->raspberry pi configuration->localisation->set keyboard didn't seem work. fixed problem

hello all, on behalf of trying getting ubuntu installed. ubuntu 9.04 comes nicely live cd, seems cannot detect hard drives, theres nothing under locations / computer. (it can see usb sticks, working). it's raid setup, , device shows under device manager as: intel (ir) ich8r (lots of numbers) sata raid controller raid arrays problem ubuntu? there recommended way forward? it's going tricky install invisible disk! when moved win linux ended getting rid of raid because hassle. there support using module called "dmraid" (i think) never co-operate. think fact used use drives in raid configuration causing problems 9.10 rc thinks drives still in raid configuration. given 9.10 quick assume drives raid maybe you'll have more luck friend's machine using 9.10 installer! 9.10 due out thursday (although release candidate available if want check happens in advance of then).

ciao tutti!! volevo avere alcune delucidazioni sull'interfaccia spi. in pratica vorrei realizzare un sistema in cui un raspberry (b+) comunica con un numero (non definito) di chip atmega. il problema però è che il raspberry ha solamente due pin per indicare gli "slave". vista la poca disponibilità di pin slave, mi chiedevo se fosse possibile usare un qualsiasi pin per selezionare il chip slave al quale mandare messaggi. non sono un raspberry expert, ma mi sembra alquanto strano che la scheda abbia due soli pin da adibire al cs. magari perchè tutti gli altri sono già impegnati in qualcos'altro?  un magheggio può essere quella di usare due pin di cs in maniera "binaria" ovvero li infili in un multiplexer e col le 4 combinazioni disponibili: 00, 01, 10, 11, hai appunto il controllo di 4 uscite. di più diventa complicato. dovresti usare un port expander su i2c, ma la complicazione circuitale - e software - aumentano.

i replaced older version of skype (2.0 something) newer 2.1 beta version. in old version had pick between handful of recording devices (what unclear , hit or miss before finding right 1 make work right). have selection "pulseaudio server (local)" , nothing else. when skype test call, playback of recording sounds utter static. have no idea how fix this. unfortunately have same issues, can record in sound recorder? pulseaudio doesn't seem best (to me) may better whatever else out there. salve tutti, ho in mente di aggiungere qualche funzione ad un sistema antifurto wireless che ho installato in casa. il sistema in questione è questo . ciò che vorrei fare, ma non sono sicuro che sia fattibile, è di "ampliare" le funzioni del sistema utilizzando arduino, aggiungendo ad esempio una tastiera con combinazione o dei sensori rfid per attivare/disattivare l'allarme ed inserire magari altri tipi di sensori programmabili piacimento. essendo un sistema wireless mi chiedo se sia possibile tramite qualche modulo arduino mandare segnali alla centrale senza collegamenti filari, di fatto "introducendoli" sulla rete della centrale. alcune informazioni che potrebbero essere utili (o forse no):  - attualmente l'inserimento/disinserzione avviene tramite dei semplici telecomandi che sono stati accoppiati alla centrale premendo un tastino sulla stessa e poi sul telecomando (un po' come si fa col tasto wps delle reti wifi)  - ogni sensore dell'i

i have 160 gb hard drive. have 4 partitions: 2 ntfs, 1 ext4 , 1 swap. trying install karmic. when go advanced partition manager mode during installation, can see 160 gb single partition, ubuntu says unallocated. says no other operating system detected. have jaunty in ext4 , vista in 1 of ntfs drives.even gparted shows 1 160 gb unallocated drive. problem. please help. btw, when checked disk before installation said 1 file may have error. similar problem? trying install 64 bit version. i don't know not detecting jaunty, ntfs partitions not going show method reading & writing them not part of default ubuntu install (you have install special package read/write them). hello there, i have little rc ride on car i`m trying modify little son.i installed led lights , added 3 batteries car goes 5h without need charge. car works on remote controller work on phone. have schematic, mobile app, , code arduino tested 2 small rc car able modify. right time logic in big ride on car. trying find motor shield allow me control 3 dc motors ( 2 movement , 1 direction) tried find power of these motors couldn't find on them. measured amperage car in motion while son driving. amperage per motor 5a. looking handle that. preferably h bridge can run 3 dc each 10a. does know can find that? i have been goggling few days , couldn't find good. any ideas? slavisha here car using rc control.
